A family-run holiday park beat off stiff competition to win a top award.<\/p>\n
The Commonwood Caravan and Glamping site, in Holt, near Wrexham, was crowned North Wales\u2019s\u00a0 Best Holiday Park at the prestigious Go North Wales Tourism Awards.<\/p>\n
The headline sponsor for the glittering event at Venue Cymru in Llandudno was the leading food distribution company Harlech Foodservice, that\u2019s celebrating its 50th<\/sup> anniversary this year, and it was hosted by acclaimed journalist Sian Lloyd who hails from Wrexham<\/p>\n After starting out as a fishery, Commonwood Leisure has been transformed by brothers Tom and Josh Dunn.<\/p>\n The dynamic duo developed the site into a holiday destination with luxury tented accommodation and caravan pitches complemented by a caf\u00e9\/restaurant.<\/p>\n Their mother, Julie, said: \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to have won\u00a0 and it\u2019s a well-deserved reward for Tom who, along with Josh, has really transformed the site and the offer with cabins and tents and even a festival in the summer.<\/p>\n \u201cWe attract people from across the UK and Ireland and families like to use us as somewhere they can all get together in lovely surroundings.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have been very, very busy this year and we\u2019re reaping the rewards of all the hard work that has been done.<\/p>\n \u201cIn the summer we were regularly attracting 300 people on a Friday night and at the festival in June we had 750 here.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have a range of Bell Tents for families and couples and fishing the pleasure lakes is included in the cost of the Bell Tent.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Arcadia Safari tent in its own five-acre field, comes with its own private lake to fish, swim, canoe.
