Big-hearted staff at law firm\u2019s new office in Mold sold some tempting cakes at the town market in aid of a popular children\u2019s charity.<\/p>\n
The tasty selection of cupcakes kindly donated by Gill\u2019s Puddings persuaded plenty of shoppers to part with \u00a31 as they raised over \u00a3120 for the Eat Cake events organised across North Wales and the border counties by Hope House\/Ty Gobaith which cares for youngsters with life-limiting conditions.<\/p>\n
Among their customers was Mold Town Councillor and former Mayor Haydn Jones who said: \u201cWhen I was Mayor a couple of years ago I gave some of my charity money for Hope House, it\u2019s such an important charity for this area so I am delighted that Swayne Johnson are supporting them.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy donation as Mayor started the ball rolling here and we now have a Mold Group for Hope House and I am the Chair and I\u2019m pleased to see that Swayne Johnson\u2019s stall has a marquee lent to them by the Council.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are posters of many of the young people they have helped in the shop here on the High Street and one of them is a young boy, Oliver, who is the grandson of one of my best friends and Hope House have helped him and his family so much.\u201d<\/p>\n
Swayne Johnson had a team of six braving the weather and manning the stand and Michelle Lanham said: \u201cWe have a stock of plenty of cupcakes in the office – we have had 200 donated by a bakery and they\u2019re going very well despite the weather.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe only opened in Mold earlier this year but we always have a commitment to the areas where we have branches and like to get involved with local charities and good causes.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mold-based Family Law expert Lisa Harbour organised the Eat Cake event for Swayne Johnson and she said: \u201cIt\u2019s for Hope House\/Ty Gobaith which is a great charity.<\/p>\n
\u201cSupporting Hope House is also important for us \u2013 many of the firm\u2019s employees are parents themselves and supporting a children and family charity is only natural and Swayne Johnson wants to support the wonderful work that is being carried out by Hope House\/Ty Gobaith right across North Wales, Cheshire and Shropshire.\u201d<\/p>\n
Swayne Johnson opened its new Mold office close to the centre of town on New Street earlier this year with a team of six led by Sally Johnson, a Welsh-speaker from Flint, who went to Ysgol Maes Garmon in Mold<\/p>\n
Sally, who joined Swayne Johnson last year, specialises in private client work and is highly experienced having worked in the field for over 20 years.<\/p>\n
The firm, which was founded in Denbigh over 150 years ago, has its headquarters in St Asaph and also has offices in Denbigh, Ruthin, Llandudno and Tattenhall, near Chester, with a staff of 55.<\/p>\n
