A Cheshire electrician has pledged to carry out a good deed every month in 2026 \u2013 with a local storage firm helping to back his mission.
\nNick Lundie, 34, of Nantwich-based Lundie Electrical, is midway through his year-long community challenge which includes installing life-saving defibrillators and supporting men\u2019s mental health groups.
\nHis heartwarming campaign is being supported by Lock Stock Self Storage where he rents a unit to store tools and equipment.
\nBased at the firm\u2019s new site in Crewe, Nick says the easy access to secure storage means he can respond quickly to good causes.
\nThe two companies are now urging more local organisations to come forward for help.
\nLock Stock also prides itself on being a community champion and recently handed over a bumper donation of food to St Paul\u2019s Centre food bank in Crewe, linked up with Crewe Alexandra through a sponsorship partnership and donated Easter Eggs to St Luke\u2019s Hospice in Winsford.
\nNick contacted Men in Sheds Nantwich to offer his firm\u2019s help after seeing a social media post about its work.
\nHe said he was delighted to be able to help the group, which is based at Gate Farm Rural Enterprise Park near Nantwich and has 20 regular members.
\nNick said: \u201cI think it is great what they are doing, it is a good way for men to meet up, have a chat and work on a project or learn new skills.
\n\u201cThere is such a need for it, offering support and a safe space really helps men and their mental health.
\n\u201cWe put in some LED lights and some additional sockets for them and I also had tools and kit which I was able to donate to them.
\n\u201cI also got a few donations from our electrical suppliers which I was able to give to them.
\n\u201cI have also offered to put on a training session for the members too where they can learn some electrical skills.\u201d
\nNick said other community projects the firm is involved with this year include supporting a drive by Nantwich\u2019s GOAT sports bar and restaurant to install defibrillators at various venues around town.
\nNick said: \u201cThey have sourced a number of defibs which they are donating to other venues and we are helping to install them free of charge.
\n\u201cAnd separately we have installed a defib at another pub, the Bhyurtpore at Aston.
\n\u201cOther community projects who might want our support can email us or contact us through social media.”
\nLock Stock Area Manager Richard Warner said: \u201cNick from Lundie Electrical is doing a terrific job in his work to support local groups and we\u2019re delighted to be able to provide him with all his storage needs.
\n\u201cOur policy of supporting communities ties in perfectly with the work Lundie Electrical is doing in helping good causes.
\n\u201cAs a community-minded company, we have a strong ethos of supporting people in the areas where we operate.
\n\u201cWe have already helped local groups but we always want to do more when we can, so I\u2019d encourage community organisations to get in touch to chat about how we can help them.

\nNick Lundie runs the firm with business partner Sam Cropper and Nick\u2019s wife Kelly helps with administration.
\nThe firm employs three electricians and is hiring for a fourth.
\n\u201cI chose Lock Stock for my storage needs because it was a nice location for us, it was competitively priced, it is ideal really,\u201d said Nick.
\n\u201cThe units are all brand spanking new so there are no issues with leaks in the containers, and it was a really easy process to get us set up.
\n\u201cIt was one phone call and within about 15 minutes I had an allocated unit, and the payment was set up and I was ready to head down and use it.\u201d
\nStacey Rutter, founder and chair of Nantwich Men in Sheds, thanked Nick for his support of the organisation.
\nShe said: \u201cWe have been thrilled by the level of support from the local community and Nick and the Lundie Electrical team have been absolutely fantastic with their support.
\n\u201cWe have been able to add in new sockets and a whole new lighting system as a result of their support and they have even donated tools to allow the men to get on with their projects.
\n\u201cWe started the shed in November and it is a welcoming environment, open to all men aged 18 and upwards and is aimed at tackling loneliness and isolation and promoting positive wellbeing.
\n\u201cWe run from 1pm to 5pm on a Monday and noon to 8pm on a Wednesday.\u201d
\nLock Stock has five sites in Cheshire, including at Crewe, Winsford and Runcorn, and in Northwich where there are sites in Lostock and Wincham.
\nThe 1.2 acre storage park in Crewe, on the corner of Catherine Street and Francis Street, was previously occupied by a disused printworks that was destroyed by a major blaze in August 2024 and now has more than 150 storage containers, with solar powered lighting and keyless entry technology.
\nFounded in 2000, Lock Stock has over 5,700 storage units providing more than five million cubic feet of space at more than 35 storage parks across North and Mid Wales, the border counties and the north west.
\nThey estimate that over 70 per cent of their units are rented by people moving house or keeping treasured possessions but nearly 30 per cent, almost 2,000, are used by a variety of businesses for storing materials, stock and equipment.
