An ambitious village football club has unveiled a new kit and new sponsor for its first season in the inaugural Lock Stock Ardal North West Division \u2013 and they\u2019re banking on having a recipe for success.<\/p>\n
The name on the shirts of Y Felinheli is Llofft, a new caf\u00e9\/bar\/restaurant in the village and as well as their new look home and away kits the club have upgraded their facilities at their ground at Seilo.<\/p>\n
They certainly got their season off to a flying start \u2013 Gavin Lloyd Jones scored in the first minute of their opening game at Rhostyllen but they had to settle for a 1-1 draw at the final whistle.<\/p>\n
They earned the right to compete at this level by winning the Welsh Alliance Division Two in thrilling style, pipping rivals Penmaenmawr Phoenix to the title on goal difference after both finished the 2019-2020 season on 40 points.<\/p>\n
The key result in that campaign was a 3-2 home win over Phoenix sealed dramatically with an 89th<\/sup> minute goal by Gruff John.<\/p>\n Now Llofft have put their shirts on Y Felinheli and Llofft and both see the sponsorship as a perfect partnership and the club\u2019s Gwil John said: \u201cWe are very grateful to all those who have sponsored us over the years.<\/p>\n \u201cThe club is very close to the hearts of the people of Y Felinheli and it\u2019s great to have a new business run by locals as our kit sponsor.\u201d<\/p>\n Elen ap Robert, who owns Llofft with husband Dylan Huws, said: \u201cAs a local business we\u2019re very happy to support the club.<\/p>\n \u201cIt plays an important part in the community and that is also our aim with the new caf\u00e9, bar and restaurant.<\/p>\n \u201cThe values of the club and the opportunities it provides to young local players makes this a good match and aligns with our ambition to play our part in the life of the community.<\/p>\n \u201cWe wish the club the best of luck at the beginning of an exciting and challenging season.\u201d<\/p>\n
